Originally created out of function in society for people to keep their heads warm, beanies today are a lot more elaborate than that! The beanie styles from which to choose are many — maybe you want yours with a big pom-pom on top, in a neon yellow color, with multicolored stripes, or maybe a huge chunky knit. In the colder months, a beanie is one of your best fashion-forward accessories! Oh, and they do actually help keep you warm too.

When styling your beanie, consider color. Repeating a color already in your outfit is usually the best choice — such as a gray beanie with a gray sweater, or a red beanie with red boots. Or try making a colored or print beanie the standout feature by contrasting its color with the colors of your outfit — such as a fun yellow beanie with navy and deep green clothes. The good news is, hair styling doesn’t take much more than plopping your beanie over your hair and calling it a day (our favorite part?)!
