  1. cutouts

Lately it feels like another day, another cutout piece! The negative space trend of the moment is a favorite of celebrities. Of course, cutouts returned to the runway starting back in spring/summer 2021 but they're back and even bolder this year. Longer, elegant dresses have a fun edge with cutouts (David Koma, Giambattista Valli, Proenza Schouler and Christian Siriano), and one-pieces and minis get there fierceness turned-up (Stella McCartney, Christian Siriano and Saint Laurent). Cute cutouts come in all sizes and shapes, and that means there's a style for everyone interested in trying the trend. Be sure to check out our picks of the best cutout pieces to shop this season.

2. Mini skirts

The spring/summer 2022 runway is full of mini skirts (the micro-mini kind) which we haven’t seen for a while. Miu Miu's went nostalgic (and viral) with their utility-style, but trending minis are also part of athleisure-inspired looks (Dior), high-waisted skirt suits (Michael Kors, Prabal Gurung) and out-there outfits (Saint Laurent, Prada, Brandon Maxwell).

3. Lime green

Grinch-made-chic? Yes! Lime green was literally everywhere this season as we watched from the fashion month front row. The acid hue unexpectedly highlighted the fanciest party dresses (Erdem, Valentino, Christian Siriano), elevated summer-y ensembles (Valentino, Stella McCartney, Prabal Gurung), as well as made Y2K tributes (Versace).

4. Halternecks

Display those pretty shoulders in a sexy halterneck top. The design is all in the details like ornate loops and criss-crosses which were all over the runway for spring/summer. It’s 'beach vacay' chic with halterneck tops (Christian Siriano, Rejina Pyo, Chanel), dresses (Valentino, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Dior) and even catsuits (Saint Laurent).

5. Hot pink

Punch up your summer wardrobe with 2022 highlighter hues. Hot pink is sure to refresh your look! Power-dressing in the Barbie tone is very much in right now. If lime green wasn’t your neon hue, try hot pink! Go with snazzy co-ords (Versace, Dior) and beach vacation outfit ideas (Prabal Gurung, David Koma), or, all-out extra ideas (Versace, Bora Aksu, Proenza Schouler and Giambattista Valli).

6. Low-rise

After a long while of high-waisted bottoms, there is a naughty revolt of under-the-belly-button jeans and pants. Many of us swear never to go back to low-rises as they may not be to everyone’s taste. But for the adventurous, try out the runway trend with a mix and match look (à la Tom Ford), or matching sets for a more ‘put together’ vibe (Versace, Isabel Marant and Brandon Maxwell).

7. Bras as tops

The trend of lingerie as outerwear has been going for a while and is entering its next phase. Are you ready for it? It takes the crop top to a whole other level. It takes some fearlessness to ditch a shirt entirely. Wear your bra as a top with high-waisted skirts (Michael Kors) or layer a triangular-shaped bra underneath jackets and longer coats (Tom Ford, Fendi, Coach).

8. Statement pantsuits

What's chicer than a pantsuit? A pantsuit in a statement color, duh. Yes, the '80s oversized workwear staple is looking more smashing than ever this spring/summer. Thanks to padded shoulders (Michael Kors, Stella McCartney), wider legs and eye-popping color palettes (Christian Siriano) your office wardrobe will thank you.

9. Butter yellow

There’s not only bright, saturated hues for spring/summer 2022! Softer, pastel shades include the most on-trend color to add to your closet: buttery warm yellow. The smooth pastel is in co-ordinated crop tops (Max Mara), billowing maxis (Proenza Schouler, Chloé) and sleek lightweight coats (Jil Sander).

10. Bright co-ords

Matchy-matchy vibes will be yours with these! Whether you’re jetting off to a week in Spain or a night out, these make for a suitable go-to outfit. The runways feature short shorts paired with twinning loose collared shirts (either worn buttoned up or open to reveal a bra/bikini top underneath). Longer hemlines will take you into the city, or go with fun psychedelic patterns in figure-highlighting silhouettes.

11. Fringe

Full-on fringe goodness adorns flippy dresses and skirts this season. Try donning slinky, shimmery, strands for evening time (Fendi, Rodarte) or, slightly thicker fringe in neutral colors for daytime outfits (Proenza Schouler, Chloé).

12. Feathers

What’s more fun than feathers?! This season various shows featured pastel pink feathers (Giambattista Valli, David Koma, Prabal Gurung), adding a little bit of pizzazz and party to the runway. If you’re more of a LBD fan, you’ll be happy to know that there are all black versions too (Max Mara).

13. Pleats

Add a little glam Studio 54 to your look this season with shimmery, pressed pleated fabrics! All you need to do is slip on a pleated metallic midi or maxi - and your whole outfit is made. This trend has an easy impact and we are here for it.
